| Resignation
of Sensei Grubis
It is with great regret that we
announce the resignation of Sensei Karl Grubis from the association
so that he can pursue a different direction in his practice of Ju-Jitsu.
The clubs in Scotland will continue, as before, to be controlled
by Sensei John R. Smith 2nd Dan, with guidance and support from
Sensei Martin Currie 3rd Dan, and with the full backing and approval
of Shihan Billy Doak 8th Dan Ju-Jitsu/4th Dan Judo of the Goshin
Ju-Jitsu Association UK-Wales
Before beginning to train under affiliation to the Goshin Ju-Jitsu
Association UK-Wales, Karl received his 1st and 2nd Dan Grades from
the World Ju-Jitsu Federation and then his 3rd Dan from Kyoshi Gunnar
Salders of the United Kingdom Ju-Jitsu Federation. Despite training
with the Goshin Ju-Jitsu Association since, he never entered examination
for promotion after this. Over the last few months he has chosen
to participate in training with an association that is more in line
with the style of Ju-Jitsu he originally practiced prior to training
with the Goshin Ju-Jitsu Association. He has recently accepted the
rank of 4th Dan from them having undertaken examination in line
with their standards and controls.
As Karl has chosen to breakaway from the guidance and methods of
the Goshin Ju-Jitsu Association and to return to his original style
of Ju-Jitsu, he will no longer be part of our group of clubs or
affiliated to our parent body The Goshin Ju-Jitsu Association UK-Wales.
As a result of this situation we must inform all Goshin Ju-Jitsu
Association Members that should you choose to continue to train
with Karl on a regular basis, the Insurance from us will not be
sufficient to cover you. This change is effective from 30th June
2008.
